Chaka is inspired by various decorations found in Islamic tile decoration and architecture. Arabic calligraphy was also used to draw inspiration for this design.
Chaka is a two color rectangular wrap, knit sideways on long circular needles. It calls for a provisional cast on and is finished off with i-cord edgings on all four sides.

Yarn Used
The beautiful yarn used for the pictured sample is from Ishrat of Fruitful Fusion. The sample uses her BFL Fingering base, which is 100% superwash BFL, 437.5y/400m/100g. The main color used in the sample is Bloom, with contrast color Celebrate.

Set up
With waste yarn, CO 485 sts.
Main Body
Join MC.
Row 1 (RS): Knit across all sts.

I-Cord from provisional CO
Carefully pl sts from provisional CO onto needle. With RS facing, join CC and k 2 rows. Rep I-cord BO from **.
I-cord Bind off at outer edges
Using MC, work applied I-cord on short edges: With RS facing, PU and k 96 sts (approx. two out of every three sts) along the outer edges of the wrap, Turn. K one row. Turn. CO 3 sts and work as for I-cord BO from **.
Finishing
Weave in ends, wash and block to measurements.
