Designer: Ivonne @montanocrochet
Ollin baby bloomers were inspired by the geometric designs found in Mexico’s pre-Hispanic time. Like the word itself meaning ‘movement’, these geometric designs have lived through many eras, including our own, reminding us of our roots and what our ancestors were capable of achieving.
The Ollin bloomers are beginner friendly baby shorts, worked legs first, then joined and worked in the round to form the bottom. The mosaic pattern is created through a 14 round repeat.

Directions
Leg Ribbing (make two)
Using US 8/ 5 mm DPNs, CO 32, 34 (36, 38, 40) sts, plus one. Join for working in the round, being careful not to twist sts, K first and last st tog.
Setup Rnd 1: *k1tbl, p1 rep from * for 1.5”/3.8 cm or until desired length. Do not BO, break yarn leaving a 4” / 10 cm tail. Set aside.
Rep for second leg using another pair of US 8/5m DPNs, but do not break yarn
Joining Rnd 2: Still working on the second leg, place BORm and using cable cast-on, CO 4, 6 (4, 6, 8) sts. With the same working yarn, join the first leg cuff, by working one row of ribbing around. Using the cable cast-on, CO 4 (6, 4, 6, 8), and work ribbing around the second leg until you reach BOR. You should have 72 (80, 80, 88, 96) sts on two sets of DPNs
*Note: change to circular needle now or after a few rows of the mosaic chart so that you don’t stretch the sts out.*
