Mission Statement
Radicle Threads is a BBIMP grassroots company that aims to create a sustainable, ethical, and equitable online and print publication with a focus on crafting.
Our mission is to uplift, amplify, and empower BBIMP voices and to share our knowledge, skills, and experiences with the goal of increasing accessibility for all.
Theme: Fire
We’re looking for patterns inspired by summer night bonfires, the flickering of the flames, and the smell of wood-burning. Play with the ideas of light vs dark, warm vs cold, bright vs light, and soft vs textured to show all the facets of fire, its flames, and the heat it produces. Think of the different flame colors and the elements that create them.
Looking for: Knitting and Crochet patterns
Large accessories: Shawls, Stoles/wraps, blankets, etc
Small accessories: socks
Garments: Dresses, skirts, light sweaters, tops, etc.
Crafting tutorials – Macrame, beading, embroidery, sewing, basketry, soapmaking, etc.
We’re looking for articles covering all aspects of micro-farming, current events, and poems with a focus on water conservation, grey water usage, biodiverse gardens, xeriscaping.
Articles – Full Article 700-1000 words, Current Event 600- 800 words, Poem 100 words.
Recipes: For this issue, we are focusing on dishes and drinks that bring on the heat. Submit your most flavorful, spicy recipes and drinks. Think grilled meat, vegetables, and even fruits. Spicy chutneys, dipping sauces, and marinades. Draw inspirations from your own culture, heritage, and ancestry when submitting recipes.
